Elstgeest Young Plants and Aardam join forces

Trusted as always. Stronger together for the future.

Elstgeest Young Plants has acquired Aardam. With this step, two well-established companies in the young plant sector are joining forces and taking an important step towards the future.

For customers and suppliers, nothing will change for the time being. Both companies will continue to operate under their own names, with the same people, the same quality and the same personal service.

Behind the scenes, however, we are starting something new: carefully bringing together our knowledge, experience and capabilities. Together, Elstgeest Young Plants and Aardam represent more than 150 years of experience in the horticultural sector.

Why are we taking this step?

Elstgeest Young Plants and Aardam have known each other and the market for many years. We serve many of the same professional growers, while our product ranges complement each other very well. This makes joining forces a logical next step.

By working together, we will be able to offer our customers a broader product range and make even better use of our combined knowledge and experience. At the same time, we are building a healthy, future-proof organisation that can continue to invest in quality, expertise and service.

In short: more opportunities for tomorrow,
without changing what works well today.

What does this mean for our customers?

The most important answer is simple: For the time being, nothing will change. You will continue to work with your trusted contacts and place your orders in the same way as you do today. Existing agreements, quality, service and deliveries will remain unchanged. Aardam and Elstgeest Young Plants will also continue to operate under their own names for the time being. In the longer term, we expect to be able to offer you even more. By bringing together the complementary product ranges and expertise of both companies, we will create new opportunities to support you even better.

And what about our suppliers?

For our suppliers, day-to-day cooperation will also remain unchanged for the time being. Existing agreements and contact persons will stay the same.

Our suppliers are important partners in delivering the quality our customers expect from us. That is why we want to continue building long-term, personal partnerships with our suppliers in the new situation as well.

Our people and expertise will remain

Bringing two companies together is not just about products, customers or locations. Above all, it is about people and the knowledge and experience they have built up over the years.

That is why it is important to us that all employees of Elstgeest Young Plants and Aardam will keep their jobs. Their craftsmanship, experience and commitment will remain an important part of the organisation.

Arthur Spruit will also remain closely involved with Aardam over the coming years. This will allow his knowledge, experience and relationships to be transferred carefully, while giving the partnership the time it needs to develop naturally.

"I only wanted to hand over my company to a party that I knew would continue the way we work. Our customers, employees and suppliers deserve a company where quality, trust and personal relationships remain at the heart of the business. In Debbie and Daan Elstgeest, I have found the right successors."

Arthur Spruit – Aardam

“We have deliberately chosen continuity and stability. Our customers and suppliers should be able to continue relying on the same people, the same quality and the same personal way of working. At the same time, behind the scenes we will bring together our knowledge and experience, enabling us to support our customers even better in the future.”

Moving forward together

We look to this new phase with confidence. Together, we bring more than 150 years of experience, two complementary product ranges and, above all, a wealth of knowledge and craftsmanship. At the same time, we will preserve what has made both companies strong: quality, reliability and personal contact.

Little will change today. Together, we are creating more opportunities for tomorrow. Do you have any questions? Please feel free to contact your usual contact person. We will be happy to tell you more.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why has Elstgeest Young Plants acquired Aardam?
This acquisition brings together two respected companies with complementary strengths in knowledge, experience and product range. After many successful years as an entrepreneur, Arthur Spruit has decided to gradually reduce his day-to-day involvement in the business and focus more on other activities.
